Megalab is the first and only medical laboratory in the South Caucasus to hold both American (Joint Commission International, “JCI”) and European (ISO 15189) accreditations.
In 2022, Megalab became the first medical laboratory in the South Caucasus to receive the American accreditation of Joint Commission International (JCI). This standard is based on the highest norms of patient safety, accuracy of tests and reliable data protection.
2025In 2025, the laboratory successfully passed JCI's next re-accreditation.
In 2024, Megalab also obtained ISO 15189 accreditation, the principal international standard of quality and competence for medical laboratories.

The quality of a laboratory result is affected by the entire process, from correct sample collection to delivery of the final result.
At Megalab, this process is organized as a single system.
The quality of a test begins at the sample collection stage. Following the relevant procedures and requirements is important so that the material received in the laboratory is in proper condition for testing.
Biological material is transported from regional branches and partner medical institutions to the central laboratory through a specialized logistics system. During transportation, the conditions set for the sample and the appropriate temperature regime are controlled.
On arrival at the laboratory, the sample undergoes registration and identification and is distributed to the appropriate research department.
The test is performed in the relevant department, using defined methodology, technological systems and work protocols.
Quality control mechanisms operate throughout the testing process. When necessary, results undergo additional professional review and validation.
The validated result becomes available to the patient and physician through the appropriate digital channels.
From sample receipt to result delivery, the main processes are managed in an integrated system, which makes it possible to control and trace every stage.
Megalab's central laboratory operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The uninterrupted operating cycle is especially important for emergency and critical diagnostics, when the time to receive a result is directly linked to the subsequent medical decision.
