Nino Gulatava

Medical Director

Nino Gulatava joined Megalab in 2021 as Medical Director. She is also the Director of CT-MED-GLOBAL, a consultant at the Children’s Infectious Diseases Hospital, a lecturer at the Caucasus International University, and a member of the Supervisory Board of LuxMed LTD. She has completed numerous international and local professional trainings. Nino has 28 years of professional experience in institutions such as Tbilisi State University, Cito, the Otar Gudushauri Medical Center, Medical House, and New Hospitals. She graduated from the Leningrad Pediatric Medical University with a degree in Pediatrics, earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Caucasus University, and completed her Doctorate at David Tvildiani Medical University.

Quality Management Director

Elene Machavariani joined Megalab in 2018 and serves as Quality Management Director. She has 15 years of experience in quality management, having worked at Evex Medical Corporation, New Hospitals, Global Medi, and My Family Clinic. Elene graduated from the Tbilisi State Medical University, Faculty of Medicine, and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Healthcare Management) from the University of Georgia. She also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification in management.

Elene Machavariani joined Megalab in 2018 and serves as Quality Management Director. She has 15 years of experience in quality management, having worked at Evex Medical Corporation, New Hospitals, Global Medi, and My Family Clinic. Elene graduated from the Tbilisi State Medical University, Faculty of Medicine, and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Healthcare Management) from the University of Georgia. Alexi Baidoshvili

Alexi Baidoshvili

Head of Pathology Department

Alexi Baidoshvili has been leading Megalab’s Pathology Department since 2018. He has 25 years of professional experience, including 14 years in the Netherlands, where he worked at VUMC, LabPon (Laboratorium Pathologie Oost-Nederland), and The University of Twente. He was also part of the Evex Medical Corporation team and served as a professor at David Tvildiani Medical University. Alexi is the President of GIMPHA (Georgian International Medical and Public Health Association) and GAPC (Georgian Association of Pathologists and Cytologists), and a member of the Dutch Society of Pathology, The Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland, and GAMPHA (Georgian American Medical and Public Health Association). He is a co-author of more than 30 scientific publications and a speaker at over 50 international conferences. Alexi graduated from Tbilisi State University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Nino Macharashvili joined Megalab in 2024 as Head of the Microbiology Department. She has 41 years of experience in various institutions and international projects, including the Institute of Bacteriology, Institute of Morphology, Center for Genetic Ecology, Virology Laboratory, USAID/PHR+/CIF Program, and the PCU/World Bank/Curatio International Foundation. In recent years, she headed the Bacteriology Laboratory at the Center for Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology. Nino has extensive international experience, having served as a laboratory consultant in Tajikistan, team leader in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Laboratory Network Assessment Project, ISO implementation expert in Turkmenistan, and IQLS expert for the Armenia Laboratory Network Strengthening Project. She holds an MS and PhD in Microbiology from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and completed a Postdoctoral Program in Microbiology at the David Axelrod Institute in Albany, New York, USA, as a Fogarty Fellow.

Ana completed her medical studies at Tbilisi State Medical University, graduated from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) with a degree in Healthcare and Law Management, and was a resident at the National Oncology Center of Belarus, Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics.

Kipshidze, Tbilisi Central Hospital, Institute of Critical Medicine, and Open Heart Cardiology Clinic, and previously served as Director of Clinics at Madison Holding. Nino graduated from the Tbilisi State Medical University, Faculty of Pediatrics, completed a clinical residency in Critical Medicine, and a postdoctoral program in Neuroscience at the University of Louisville (USA). During her career in the United States, she conducted research on brain trauma and memory deficits, is a member of over 10 international medical organizations, the author of more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, and a recipient of multiple international awards and research grants, including from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Heart Association (AHA). Before joining Megalab, she led the clinics of Madison Holding.

Miranda Gudadze joined Megalab in 2018 as Head of the Pathology Department. She holds a Doctorate in Medicine, is the author of 18 medical publications, a member of the European Society of Pathology, and Vice President of the Georgian Division of the International Academy of Pathology. Before joining Megalab, she co-founded and directed PathGeo – the Union of Pathologists and Anatomists. Her 20 years of professional experience include work at Medula Clinic, Central University Clinic named after Acad. N. Kipshidze, Tbilisi State Medical University, and the National Screening Center. Tamar Guchashvili joined Megalab’s Pathology Department in 2018 as Head of the Hematopathology Service. She is a member of the Georgian Association of Pathologists and Cytologists, the European Society of Pathology, and the European and World Societies for Hematopathology. In addition to her 10 years of professional experience, Tamar lectures on Pathology at Tbilisi State Medical University.
